while hanging over the parts washer with a lit cigarette in your mouth :-) I suggested them (paint thinner, odorless mineral spirits) as they are cheaper than the "dedicated" parts cleaning solvents sold for parts washers. People use Kerosine, Purple Power, Simple Green, etc. etc. I don't know what's best, just had good luck with Paint Thinner. I rinse the part off and blow it dry. I don't know about Hotsy, Or Red Devil Lye (sounds scary!). I just picked up a couple gallons of Brakleen as it works as well as anything I've used but it's pricy.
